19.30 Hrs – Assemble at departure area outside Coimbatore airport. (Have an early dinner before reaching the airport as dinner in the aircraft will be served only after departure of the flight). Proceed for check-in and Immigration formalities. Depart by SilkAir MI455 to Singapore to connect to Tokyo.
On arrival, retrieve baggage, complete immigration formalities and meet up with our tour guide to transfer to hotel. After hotel check-in , proceed on a visit to ASAKUSA-NAKAMISE shopping street (advise – don’t buy items from the first shop you see. Compare prices, then buy). Take an exciting cruise, the SUMIDA RIVER CRUISE , take a Rickshaw ride (on own payment). We next visit the TOKYO TOWER (a communications and observation tower in the Shiba-koen district of Minato, Tokyo, Japan. At 332.9 metres, it is the second-tallest structure in Japan). View the city of Tokyo from the main dec situated at a height of 150 m. From there we proceed to our hotel driving through GINZA (Tokyo’s most famous upmarket shopping, dining and entertainment district, featuring numerous department stores, boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, night clubs and cafes). After a hearty dinner, overnight stay at the Tokyo hotel.
Begin the day with a good breakfast. Embark on a visit to the MEIJI SHRINE (located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is the Shinto shrine that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken) and ASAKUSA TEMPLE (a Shinto shrine located in the Asakusa district). Stop by for shopping at the famous AKIHABARA ELECTRONICS MARKET (Note that some of the electronics on sale are only intended for use in Japan due to voltage and other technical differences, so check properly before you purchase anything there). If inclined, drop into the MAID CAFÉ (on own payment). Have a satisfying lunch at an Indian restaurant and DRIVE THROUGH TOKYO GATE BRIDGE to ODAIBA (a large artificial island in Tokyo Bay, Japan, across the Rainbow Bridge from central Tokyo). Spend time at the ODAIBA BEACH and take memorable phographs with the RAINBOW BRIDGE. Drive back to the hotel and overnight in the Tokyo hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, the full day is FREE FOR SHOPPING. Break for an Indian lunch and continue with shopping. Back to the hotel for overnight stay there after Indian dinner.
Depart early morning by 0700 hours to observe SUMO PRACTICE. Enjoy a memorable photo session with the Sumo wrestlers. Return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, embark on a visit to some og the gardens. Japan is famous for it’s landscaping and gardens. Lunch will be served at an Indian restaurant. Proceed to visit the HAKONE AREA, in Japan’s Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park west of Tokyo, is a mountainous town known for its hot springs resorts (onsen) and views of the iconic volcano Mount Fuji. It also encompasses Hakone Shrine, a Shinto shrine with a red “torii” gate overlooking Lake Ashi, which can be toured by boat, as well as the boiling sulphur springs of the Owakudani Valley. We again go on a shopping spree to GOTEMBA PREMIUM OUTLETS (The Gotemba Premium Outlets is an outlet mall located in Gotemba, Shizuoka, Japan, near Mount Fuji. It was opened on July 13, 2000, and contains over 200 stores). Transfer to the hotel and check in to another hotel at the FUJI / HAKONE area. Dinner at the hotel and overnight at the Fuji/Hakone hotel.
After breakfast, proceed on a tour to Mt. FUJI. Reach Mt. Fuji visitor centre and browse around for the information available. If the weather permits, visit the Mt. FUJI 5th STATION The Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station (also known as Yoshidaguchi 5th Station or Kawaguchiko 5th Station) lies at approximately the halfway point of the Yoshida Trail, which leads from Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine at the mountain’s base to the summit of Mount Fuji. Have lunch at a local restaurant. Then proceed for an enjoyable cruise at LAKE ASHI a scenic lake in the Hakone area of Kanagawa Prefecture in Honshū, Japan. Stop at KOJIRI HAKONE to shop for souvenirs. And continue onward for an exciting ride in the KOMAGATAKE ROPEWAY, an aerial lift line in the Kiso Mountains range, Nagano Prefecture. Complete the day with a visit to the HAKONE SHRINE MOTOTSUMIYA, which stands at the foot of Mount Hakone along the shores of Lake Ashi. The shrine buildings are hidden in the dense forest, but are well advertised by its huge torii gates, one standing prominently in the lake and two others over the main street of Moto-Hakone. Return to the hotel in Fuji and enjoy a buffet dinner there. Overnight stay at the Fuji / Hakone hotel.
Have breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive 2.5 hours to GAMAGORI, a city on Mikawa Bay in central Japan. Hot-spring resorts are scattered along the coastline. Visit the GAMAGORI FRUIT PARK where you can see a wide variety of fruits that we in India have never ever seen before. En-route, experience the SHINKANSEN ride for one station. SHINKANSEN is Japan’s high-speed bullet train, is not just a mode of transportation, but an experience in itself. On arrival at NAGOYA, transfer to a restaurant for lunch. The proceed on a visit to NAGOYA CASTLE, which was constructed on the orders of Ieyasu TOKUGAWA in order to secure an important position on the Tokaido road and to ward off attacks from the direction of Osaka. Construction was completed in 1612. Enjoy shopping at the OUTLET MALL, proceed for dinner and then overnight stay at the Nagoya hotel.
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive 2 hours to NARA. The city has significant temples and artwork dating to the 8th century, when it was Japan’s capital. Visit the DEER PARK and TODAIJI TEMPLE where deer freely roam in Nara Park, site of TODAI-JI temple. DAIBUTSU, Tōdai-ji’s 15m-high bronze Buddha, is displayed in a large wooden hall. On the park’s east side is the Shinto shrine KASUGA TAISHA, which dates to 768 A.D. and more than 3,000 lanterns. Lunch served at a local restaurant. Drive one hour to KYOTO, which was once the capital of Japan, located on the island of Honshu. It’s famous for its numerous classical Buddhist temples, as well as gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines and traditional wooden houses. Next visit NIJO CASTLE, a flatland castle in Kyoto, Japan. The castle consists of two concentric rings of fortifications, the NINOMARU Palace, the ruins of the HONMARU Palace, various support buildings and several gardens. The women can try wearing a KIMONO, the Japanese national dress (at own payment). Have dinner, then check in to the hotel in Kyoto. Overnight stay at Kyoto hotel.
Proceed on a sightseeing tour of KYOTO CITY after breakfast. Visit the KYOTO IMPERIAL PALACE (he Kyoto Imperial Palace is one of the active palaces of the Emperor of Japan and has the longest history as the capital of Japan. The Emperor declared Meiji Restoration and Charter Oath at this place in 1868) and the KINKAKU TEMPLE, officially named Rokuon-ji, which is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan. It is one of the most popular buildings in Japan. Have lunch at a local restaurant, then visit KIYOMIZU TEMPLE (Kiyomizu-dera, officially Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera, is an independent Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto. The temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto UNESCO World Heritage site) and the SANJUSANGEN-DO TEMPLE (Sanjūsangen-dō is a Buddhist temple in Higashiyama District of Kyoto, Japan. Officially known as “Rengeō-in”, or Hall of the Lotus King, Sanjūsangen-dō belongs to and is run by the Myōhō-in temple, a part of the Tendai school of Buddhism). Spend more money at the GION SHOPPING CORNER (Gion is Kyoto’s most famous geisha district, located around Shijo Avenue between Yasaka Shrine in the east and the Kamo River in the west. It is filled with shops, restaurants and ochaya (teahouses), where geiko (Kyoto dialect for geisha) and maiko (geiko apprentices) entertain). Transfer back to the hotel and ovetnight stay in the KYOTO hotel.
Check out of the hotel after breakfast and proceed to Osaka airport to complete the formalities and return to India.
